GardenHome Farm- a raw goat milk dairy

home1.jpg

We are GardenHome Farm, a Grade A natural raw goat milk dairy, located in Mount Vernon in the beautiful Skagit Valley. We are a very small family farm. We treat our animals as individuals and give each one special, loving attention. All are hand raised here on our farm, and are members of our family.

TO KNOW THE LATEST NEWS SKIP DOWN TO "WHAT'S THE SCOOP?"

Our goats are bottle raised Saanens, a white Swiss breed, and one brown Oberhosli, and are as friendly as pets. They are pastured out on clean fertile grass and have all the sweet hay that they want. The small amount of grain they are fed at milking time is certified organic. These girls have it good!

Americans want their healthy food supply back. We at GardenHome Farm are doing our part in our tiny and beautiful corner of the world- a few goats at a time. Come out and visit us and meet our girls. Try some of their wholesome milk. You'll never drink store milk again. If you visit us you will also meet their adorable baby goats born this spring.

While we are not certified organic, we do follow organic practices as much as possible including feeding certified organic grain. Who needs more chemicals in their diet?

ALSO: Eggs! Beautiful light brown, dark brown, white and even green eggs. Nobody has healthier eggs than we do. All organically fed of course.

WHAT'S THE SCOOP?

This year our milk is not available on the farm.  In order to maintain our high quality we are changing out and improving our herd genetics, therefore we are taking this season off from providing milk.  As our new, young herd matures there will be enough milk for selling next year.  Thank you for your interest.

EGGS, EGGS, EGGS.  We have eggs.  Lots of them.  Hands down the best in the west.  Completely free range, organically fed, these hens lay the best eggs in town.  Our girls go wherever they need to go in order to obtain the nutrients for producing such awesome eggs.  We just ask that they come home to nest so we can get these eggs to you.  When they are not cackling and arguing over the best laying boxes you will find some taking dust baths together, or others making their daily march through my garden beds (thank you for the weeding, gals) or scattered about like lawn art in the pasture.  I've even had neighbors down the road calling to ask if I have lost my chickens (they are too smart to be lost, some just have wanderlust.)  They all come back and deliver to us the most beautiful gift of egg.

We hope you might have seen us in the on-line Hobby Farm article or on the front cover of Acres USA October issue. They were very nice articles.
